A Breathtaking Excursion with Aquarius Boat Trips in Zadar

Updated: Mar 8

Our adventure with Aquarius Boat Trips out of Zadar was an unforgettable experience filled with stunning landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and a taste of the local culture. From the moment we stepped on board, we knew we were in for a special day.

Setting Sail

Shortly after boarding, we found seats near the bow of the ship, eager for the day ahead. As the boat set sail, the crew welcomed us with a delightful morning snack of pastries and beverages, setting the perfect tone for our journey.

As we cruised past a local tuna farm, the scenery began to change, revealing a network of bridges and a breathtaking passage through the Kornati Islands. These islands, with their rugged beauty and untouched nature, offered a glimpse into the Adriatic’s hidden treasures. The highlight of this stretch was undoubtedly the towering vertical cliffs known as the "Crown of Kornati," standing majestically against the open sea. Reaching the edge of the archipelago, where nothing lay ahead but the vast Adriatic, was a surreal and humbling moment—one that we captured in photos to remember forever.

A Secluded Island Escape

As we turned back towards land, excitement grew for what would be the second-best part of the trip—swimming in the pristine waters of a secluded island. The turquoise Adriatic welcomed us, offering a refreshing break from the summer sun. The crew took this time to prepare a barbecue lunch, filling the air with delicious aromas.

Changing into dry clothes required some improvisation, as there were no designated facilities—just a few trees and bushes for cover. Modesty was certainly not a priority here! Once dressed, we enjoyed a simple yet tasty lunch of grilled chicken or fish, which was surprisingly good given the setting.

A Relaxing Return to Zadar

With full stomachs and contented hearts, we set off on the final leg of our journey. But there was still one more treat in store—a stop at a charming fishing village for a coffee break. Sipping espresso while taking in the quaint surroundings was a lovely way to reflect on the day's adventures.

The return voyage to Zadar was just as enchanting, especially when a pod of dolphins decided to join us, playfully swimming alongside the boat. As the sun set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, we arrived back in Zadar, exhausted but exhilarated.

Final Thoughts

This excursion was an unexpected delight and an incredible value at just €70 per person. The price included breakfast, lunch, and entrance to the Kornati Islands, making it an experience well worth the cost.

However, a few considerations for future travelers: if you value privacy, the lack of changing facilities on the island may be a challenge. Additionally, while the boat had a restroom, the island offered very few options for those needing a bathroom break.

Overall, if you're looking for an unforgettable adventure exploring the beauty of Kornati and beyond, Aquarius Boat Trips is an experience you won’t want to miss. For more details on booking this excursion, check out their website or visit them in Zadar!
