Falling in Love with Brac: Discovering Bol and Zlatni Rat

It was on the enchanting island of Brac, in the lovely town of Bol, where we truly fell in love with the Adriatic Sea. Our adventure began as we rolled onto the grand ferry Jadrolinija, our car in tow, ready to set sail from the mainland to the town of Supetar. From there, we embarked on a scenic journey, winding through the island’s twisting roads, ascending and descending through breathtaking landscapes, until we finally arrived on the other side—Bol.

Our Stay at Villa Senjkovic

Finding our accommodation, Villa Senjkovic, took a bit of effort, but it was well worth it. We had booked it on Booking.com, and once we arrived, we were welcomed into a home owned by a local family. Our hostess was incredible, even going the extra mile to offer to do our laundry. The house was just a few minutes from the town center, though we quickly learned that the walk back was all uphill—a small price to pay for such a charming stay.

A Culinary Delight

The food and dining experiences we had in Bol were simply unforgettable. No picture could truly capture the rich flavors we savored. Whether it was fresh seafood, local wines, or traditional Dalmatian cuisine, every meal was a celebration of Brac’s culinary excellence.

Zlatni Rat: The Golden Horn of Paradise

For the next few days, we found ourselves completely captivated by Zlatni Rat, the famous Golden Horn Beach. We arrived early each morning to secure a private cabana, allowing us to fully immerse in the beauty of this stunning coastal wonder. The water was an impossible shade of blue, shimmering under the warm Croatian sun.

Dennis spent his time leisurely floating on his noodle, while I drifted on my floaty, the gentle waves rocking us into total relaxation. Hours slipped by in bliss, and we truly felt that if there was ever a place to experience paradise, we had found it here.
